PeerBerry Enters Its Tenth Year

Celebrating its ninth anniversary this month, PeerBerry is now entering its tenth year of operations. Since launching in 2017, the platform has financed nearly €3.6 billion in loans and paid out more than €60 million in interest. The outstanding portfolio stood at €160.9 million at the end of October, up from €116.3 million at the beginning of the year.

PeerBerry puts its historical average return at around 11%. However, comparing the €10.27 million in interest paid out this year with the average portfolio of approximately €139 million gives an annualized return of around 8.9%. The interest actually paid out is therefore around 2 percentage points below the average of the past nine years.

Personally, I have been investing with PeerBerry since June 2021. It has been my largest P2P investment for many years and currently accounts for around 25% of my P2P portfolio. My overall return stands at 11.33%, reflecting both my investments in earlier years and my Platinum loyalty bonus, which gives me an additional percentage point. Anyone starting today should therefore not expect an 11% return.

One of the platform’s major highlights is that investors have not suffered any losses in its nine years of operation. This is partly due to PeerBerry’s lending partners, which managed to repay €51.4 million in loans affected by the war over a period of just under three years.
